If this is your first time on a cruise and you are unsure about seasickness, you may want to book a cabin with less rocking to be sure that the trip is enjoyable. If you have issues with mobility, you will want a deck close to elevators or something similar. Should you enjoy things like sunbathing or swimming, you can choose a cabin on a deck close to the pool or sun deck for easier access. Keep in mind to avoid family cabins if you want a more secluded, quiet experience.

It was completely different — different color, different taste and different presentation — from what I received when I ordered the same drink on a sailing two months prior. I found the high-pressure sales tactics excessive and irritating when all I wanted to do was eat my meal in peace.
You'll receive things like a single complimentary bottle of water (at the Red tier) and a single free drink that only can be ordered on the last night of a cruise (at the Gold tier). One or two nights a cruise, there will be a more formal "cruise elegant" night where men are expected to turn out in dress slacks and a dress shirt, preferably with a sports coat, or even in a suit. During the day, there is no specific dress code, and people dress casually. If it's a sea day in a warm-weather destination, and you're bound for the top deck, that means looking like you're going to the beach — T-shirts, shorts and bathing suits (with a cover-up to go inside) are just fine. Carnival's Dream-class ships are roughly the same size as its Vista-class ships, and the two classes have a lot in common. There's also a smorgasbord of restaurants, bars and lounges on all of the vessels. Among the many offerings on these ships are Carnival's first breweries at sea (on all the vessels except Carnival Venezia, which is officially known as a Venezia-class ship and has a few notable differences). The rear area of a ship is perfect for those who want to bask in the beauty of nature without being distracted by large gatherings of people. By booking your cabin in the back of the ship, you will have more space to move around and less traffic. Visitors with mobility challenges may appreciate being closer to the activities as opposed to having to walk greater distances to participate in an event.
But if you are seasick, uncomfortable, or surrounded by noise, then you will not enjoy it. For this reason, choosing the best cabin on the best deck is very important. Unlike some lines, Carnival has resisted the trend of big-ship operators carving out whole sections of deck-top areas for the exclusive use of passengers staying in suites or willing to pay hefty access fees. The quality of the food (and drink) on Carnival ships always surprises us, given the budget pricing of the brand. Despite being one of the industry's lowest-cost operators, Carnival manages to pull off one of the best steakhouses at sea in Fahrenheit 555, and even the no-extra-charge main restaurants get the basics right. Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, notably, has its very own in-house brewery you can see behind glass walls — something still relatively rare on cruise ships.
